Students can apply now for the student trustee position and serve on the Ohio University Board of Trustees during the next academic year. Being the student trustee offers a chance to advocate for student perspectives in the University's decision-making process, serving as the link between the student body and the University Board of Trustees.
Applications close at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 12.
Apart from helping and representing the broader student community, this position provides the student with valuable, transferable experiences post-graduation, making it a valuable addition to any resume, regardless of the student's major or career aspirations. The student will also acquire significant interviewing experience through the application process, including two initial interviews and an interview with the governor's staff.
Student trustees serve for two years, allowing time to establish concrete connections with university professionals and networks outside of OHIO.
Information sessions will be held on Jan. 22, and Jan. 30, from 5-6 p.m. in Baker 230.
Students must be an Ohio resident and have at least two years left as a student at OHIO to apply. Students studying any major are eligible. For questions, reach out to Garret Meek at gm623520@ohio.edu , Student Senate at senate@ohio.edu , or Graduate Student Senate at gss@ohio.edu .
