The Ohio University Eastern Art Gallery will feature “Regional Art Showcase,” an exhibition of 2D and 3D art pieces from 10 regional artists beginning on Tuesday, Feb. 20, with an opening reception at 7 p.m.
The 10 featured artists, Dian Alpert White, Bryan Calligan, Rachel Calligan, Jim Casebolt, Tony Ciroli, Rachel Goodman, Matthew Fox, Suzzane Holsen, Paul Meidinger and Jane Seward, bring a rich diversity of perspectives and mediums to the collection. From intricate brushstrokes to innovative installations, each artist unveils a personal narrative through their creations.
"The Regional Art Showcase, featuring a diverse array of artistic mediums and subjects, is a source of great excitement for me," expressed Hiromi Katayama , visiting arts professor at Ohio University Eastern. "Opening Ohio University Eastern's newly renovated art gallery to the public embodies the spirit of sharing art in our lives, and I am thrilled to be a part of it."
This exhibit invites art enthusiasts and the community at large to witness the collective brilliance that emerges when individual inspirations converge. The artworks on display serve as a testament to the power of artistic diversity, encouraging dialogue and fostering a deeper appreciation for the vast spectrum of human creativity.
The exhibition runs through Friday, March 8, 2024. The OHIO Eastern Art Gallery , located in Shannon Hall Room 202, is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
