After nearly three decades of service to Ohio University, especially prospective Bobcats and their families, Lila Thacker will retire from Undergraduate Admissions on May 31, 2024.
Thacker began her OHIO career in the Department of Lifelong Learning in 1996 and transitioned the next year to Undergraduate Admissions. Her dedication to OHIO has been demonstrated in countless ways, including ensuring that families who request accommodations can engage fully while on campus visits.
Thacker’s behind-the-scenes work in event logistics has been an example to her colleagues and exemplified her commitment to making visits to the Athens campus accessible to all.
As Thacker embarks on this new chapter in her life, she looks forward to spending more time with her granddaughter and connecting with friends and family through travel. Thacker’s passion for contributing to her community will also continue as she brings her mini horses to interact with and entertain residents of a nearby nursing home.
The University community is invited to join Undergraduate Admissions in celebrating Thacker’s accomplishments and wishing her well in retirement on Friday, May 31, from 2-4 p.m. in the Baker Center 1804 Lounge.
