Ohio University is proud to announce the launch of its newly revamped Academic Programs website, now live at ohio.edu/programs . This comprehensive overhaul brings significant enhancements, making it easier than ever for prospective and current students to explore the University's extensive range of academic offerings.
One of the most notable updates is the inclusion of all academic programs, encompassing graduate and doctoral programs that were not previously listed in conjunction with undergraduate programs. This inclusive approach ensures that site visitors have access to a complete and accurate representation of the educational opportunities available at Ohio University.
The new website features a filtering system, allowing users to tailor their search based on various criteria, including degree level, program type, campus, format and academic college. This functionality significantly enhances the user experience by providing quick and easy access to the programs that best match their interests and needs. Academic department chairs and program directors can suggest common keywords for their programs to add to the search tool by emailing Academic Programs Web Content Specialist Joanna Sokol .
A key update involves the widely-referenced URL ohio.edu/majors, which now redirects to an undergraduate-specific version of the page: Undergraduate Programs . This website is one of the most visited pages on the University's website, attracting nearly 100,000 visits and over 81,000 unique visitors in the past year.
A new, central program repository now drives the Academic Programs page, serving as a single source of information that can be utilized across multiple locations on the website. University Communications and Marketing has partnered with the University Registrar’s Office, the Graduate College and other academic colleges on this effort and ongoing maintenance. This centralized approach streamlines content management and ensures consistency and accuracy in the information presented, as well as providing more marketing opportunities within sub-sites.
“These improvements reflect Ohio University's commitment to providing a user-friendly, comprehensive and accessible online resource for all academic programs,” said Halie Best, director of web and digital strategy. “I’m proud that University Communications and Marketing’s Web Team was able to design, develop and populate the content for this important website completely in-house. This speaks to the tremendous talent, innovation and commitment of our staff.”
Prospective students, current students, academic advisors, faculty members and other university community members are encouraged to explore the new site and take advantage of its enhanced features.
