Gridiron Glory announces host and supervising producer for Season 26

Gridiron Glory (GG) will return to WOUB for its 26th season this August with Donovan Varney, a rising senior journalism news and information major from Gahanna, Ohio, leading the GG on-air team during the 2025 high school football season. Last season, Varney served as GG’s digital host.

“Gridiron Glory was the first thing that I got involved in when I stepped on campus as a freshman, and since then it has given me so much. In those early days, I made it my goal to host this show and hopefully provide others with what the past hosts provided to me. Now that time has come, and I have the honor to continue the legacy of great hosts this show has had and to keep on serving Southeast Ohio,” said Varney. “To be the host of a show that is the platform for so many unique stories and football programs in our region is truly something special,” said Varney. “Not only that, but to know our staff of reporters has my back and is excited for me to take this step forward has me even more eager to get things going this season.”

Parker Kopronica, a rising senior journalism news and information major from Lorain, Ohio, has been selected as GG’s supervising producer for season 26. This is Kopronica’s second year in the role.

“I'm truly honored to have the opportunity to continue working with Gridiron Glory and covering football in southeast Ohio,” said Kopronica. “In addition to my two seasons producing Hardwood Heroes, planning and participating in Gridiron Glory Season 25 taught me countless invaluable lessons. From learning how to work on the fly to implementing a new graphics system, I feel prepared to continue pushing our content and production forward.”

“I am extremely excited to continue working with our veteran staff. Our supervising director Audrey Paquette is entering her third season directing the show. Additionally, seven of our ten conference lead reporters are returners, and ten staff members are entering their fourth season with Gridiron Glory,” said Kopronica. “With this staff's experience, passion for covering football in southeast Ohio, and commitment; the sky's the limit for Gridiron Glory Season 26.”
