September 21, 2020 Homecoming at Ohio University can be traced at least as far back as November 1919 when the student-published Green and White newspaper noted that the University football team was preparing for a “Home Coming” game. The last game of the University’s 1919 season carried the alumni slogan “Beat Denison,” in reference to the team’s scheduled opponent.
