Dr. Geoff Dabelko , Professor and Associate Dean of Ohio University’s Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs, was recently featured in a profile on the Environmental Peacebuilding Association website.
“Environmental peacebuilding integrates natural resource management in conflict prevention, mitigation, resolution, and recovery to build resilience in communities affected by conflict,” states the association’s website.
Dabelko was featured in the monthly newsletter as part of their ongoing member profiles. He also serves on the board of the Environmental Peacebuilding Association.
“As an Environmental Peacebuilding Association Board Member, Geoff’s work furthers the Association’s ability to connect diverse groups of people across different fields and stages in careers, as well as expand programming on environmental peacebuilding in the direction of both research and policy,” noted the article.
The article notes many of Dabelko’s accomplishments, including running OHIO’s Environmental Peacebuilding and Sustainability study abroad program.
“Environmental peacebuilding brings together so many different worlds, people, disciplines, budgets, and objectives, which is a true reflection of how we live and the challenges we face. We are always learning from different actors and groups of people,” Dabelko said in the article.
