I grew up in Dwangwa, a small town very well known for its sugarcane plantations and manufacturing, in the Central region of Malawi. With the influence of the manufacturing industry right next door, my research interest from a young age had always been tailored to participate in the production process as a process chemist. My area of interest in chemistry has become very diverse in the different sections of chemistry over the years. My current research focus is mass spectrometry and liquid chromatography separations of small molecules.  I joined the Chen Group in the fall of 2023.
