The online Master of Science in Nursing - Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (MSN-PMHNP) degree from Ohio University includes 11 courses and a total of 40 credits. You will also complete 750 hours of clinical practicum experiences in community-based mental health agencies and programs. This CCNE-accredited program is designed to be completed in six semesters on a part-time schedule.
Our curriculum delivers the specialized knowledge required to provide comprehensive, primary mental health care to diverse patient populations. Throughout your program, you will study mental health assessment, diagnostic reasoning, psychopharmacology and therapeutic modalities for individuals, groups and families.
When you finish the program, you will be prepared to sit for the Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Across the Lifespan) Certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
