Marisel Blanco, a Cuban-American residing in the vibrant city of Miami, FL, possesses a deep-seated passion for Interior Design. After graduating with an Associate in Art majoring in Interior Design from Miami Dade College, Marisel continued her academic journey at Ohio University to pursue a Bachelor's in Arts. Her design philosophy revolves around the seamless integration of functionality and aesthetics, ensuring that each project embodies both practicality and visual appeal. Marisel's academic pursuits culminated in a thesis dedicated to addressing housing challenges within an aging society. Motivated by the pressing societal issues of senior citizens' housing instability and unaffordable housing, Marisel conceived the vision for Serenity Springs, a senior living community. This visionary project incorporates bespoke amenities such as a small supermarket, a movie theater, a fitness center, a bakery/coffee shop, a lounge, and a restaurant, all nestled within an inviting, mid-century-inspired design. The objective is to provide a solution to the housing challenges while fostering a positive and inclusive social impact, thereby enhancing the overall well-being of senior residents. Post-graduation in the Fall of 2024, Marisel plans to continue her professional journey, accruing field experience and preparing for the NCIDQ exam. Looking ahead, she aspires to establish her own design firm, envisioned as Mary White Interiors, to further her mission of creating impactful and transformative spaces.
