Although most of the OHIO community will be away from the Athens campus this final’s season, Alden Library is still holding its semesterly Finals-by-Alden celebration to help students ace their tests and relieve their stress. The virtual two-week long event starts the week of Monday, April 20, and continue until the last day of finals on Friday, May 1.

“There are fun things [on the website], like downloadable coloring pages, if people need to take a study break,” said Jen Harvey, Library events coordinator. “We’re really focused on the wellness aspect of finals week and what students can do from home.”
Along with coloring pages, links to ASMR videos, mediation and yoga videos are available to students. Follow the Libraries social media, too, and check out the Virtual Petting Zoo that we’ll be hosting on Instagram, where you can scroll through photos of the staff’s pets and hopefully share your own furry (or not!) friends with #FinalsByAlden.
The Libraries will also continue to offer academic resources for students, such as on demand help from staff and librarians, additional resources through the Academic Achievement Center and virtual drop-in advising with the Allen Advising Center. There are resources available for students on regional campuses, as well.
“I would like to remind our students that they can [talk] with us…and [don’t forget] to utilize their subject librarians,” Harvey said. “I hope that [students] still feel connected to the Libraries even though we’re not physically there with them making buttons or [sharing] snacks during finals.”
