Overnight in Alden at the Start of Spring Semester

Alden Library’s available spaces overnight will be slightly different at the beginning of spring semester this year.  With a vacancy in our overnight staffing, Alden Library overnight (midnight to 8 AM) will be limited to the 2nd floor.  Overnight operations on the 2nd floor allow students access to computing and printing, group study rooms, Café Bibliotech, an accessible entrance, and more.  Items on hold, circulating books, and DVDs from other floors can be requested from the 2nd floor desk when the rest of Alden Library is closed.  We are currently in the process of filling this position and hope to again have the 4th floor available overnight as soon as possible.

Additionally, rooms 227 and 228, located on the 2nd floor in the Academic Achievement Center (AAC) have been designated as quiet study space from 10 PM until 8 AM, Sundays through Thursdays.  Previously, these classrooms were unavailable to students overnight.  Additional quiet study space in Alden is often requested by students and this space will continue to be made available overnight for the foreseeable future.  Thanks to the AAC for their continuing partnership with University Libraries.
