Alden Library
Ohio University’s Alden Library houses a vast array of interdisciplinary collections, reference materials and other resources, as well as 24-computer workstations.
Alden’s media library, current periodicals, archives and other special collections are among the many resources graduate students in the School of Media Arts & Studies make use of during the course of their studies. With collections that focus on mass communication history, radio and television broadcasting, the industry, its management, international media, and popular culture, graduate students often have access to more library materials than they need. For graduate students focusing on international media and media policy, Alden Library is a depository for government documents and international collections for area studies in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
Graduate students also have access to the library collections of Ohio University’s branch campuses through interlibrary loans, and a network of statewide library resources through OhioLINK, an interstate library loan and delivery service. Not to mention, the numerous databases that have electronic journal and popular press materials readily available. Incoming students especially appreciate the assistance of friendly librarians, who offer tutorials and assistance identifying library materials and resources.
