Laura M. Harrison, Ph.D.

Dr. Laura M. Harrison presents and writes in multiple disciplines; the common thread in her work is the examination of teaching and learning with an eye toward rehumanizing higher education. She has two forthcoming books dedicated to these topics: Harrison, L.M., Challenger, R., Morgenstern, E., & Balarabe, O.A. (in press). Helping college students write: A guide for educators . Thomas (Thom) A. Stevenson, MA

Stevenson, MA, CHIE, CHIA, FSM., is an Assistant Professor of Instruction/Coordinator of Food and Beverage in the Department of Human and Consumer Sciences at Ohio University in The Gladys W. & David H. Patton College of Education. He is also the Deans Fellow 2021-2022 for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

Paschal Yao Younge, Ed.D.

Younge, Professor of Music at Ohio University, is currently the Executive and Music Director of Azaguno, Inc., a multi-ethnic ensemble based in Athens, Ohio that focuses on research, preservation, and performance of African, African American, Caribbean, and Latin American Music and Dance.

Jacqueline Yahn, Ed.D.

Approximately 9.3 million United States students attend rural schools and one in every five U.S. citizens lives in a rural community.  Yahn’s current work examines: 1) the impact rural industries (e.g. resource extraction, farming, manufacturing) have on school funding and community capitals, 2) societal issues relevant to rural schools and communities, and 3) the theory and practice of community and career connected learning (CCCL) in rural schools.

Sharon Casapulla, EdD, MPH

Casapulla has 30 years of experience in a variety of educational settings and capacities including teaching, professional development, curriculum development, educational research and program evaluation. Currently, Casapulla is the director of the Rural and Urban Scholars Pathways (RUSP) program in the Office of Rural and Underserved Programs at the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine at Ohio University. Her research and service include work in and with rural and urban communities locally in southeastern Ohio and internationally.

James “Mick” Andzulis, Ph.D., MBA, MS

Andzulis has worked extensively in the field of business, specializing in sales strategy, technology, social selling and business process reengineering. He’s worked in several industries including pharmaceutical, fire protection design, engineering consulting, defense and insurance industries, where he’s used his expertise to analyze and advance the businesses and their sales. He’s previously worked for Kemper Insurance Companies as a fire protection engineer responsible for large industrial and hospital ‘highly protected risk’ clients in MI, IN, OH and KY.

Courtney Koestler, Ph.D.

Working with students who spoke 20 different languages and represented 40 countries was a life-changing experience for Dr. Courtney Koestler and has led Koestler to focus on issues of equity, diversity and social justice in mathematics education. Since 1999, Koestler has served as a K-8 public school teacher working both as a classroom teacher and a mathematics specialist and instructional coach.

Greg Kessler, Ph.D.

Kessler is a professor of innovative learning design and technology in the Educational Studies department in the Patton College of Education at Ohio University. He has also been the director of the Language Resource Center and Associate Professor of Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) in the Department of Linguistics in the College of Arts and Sciences.

Hugh Martin, Ph.D.

Dr. Hugh J. Martin specializes in economics and management in media firms, encompassing varied digital and traditional media markets, including the effect of consumers' shift to digital media on content production - news, entertainment, music, movies, broadcasting and print.

Michael Kopish

Michael Kopish is a professor of teacher education at Ohio University’s Patton College of Education with expertise in instructional practices and assessments that emphasize disciplinary literacy in social studies. His major interests include teaching and learning in social studies classrooms; inclusive disciplinary literacy practices; and youth civic engagement.
