Josh Antonuccio, M.Ed.
Josh Antonuccio has traversed multiple industry roles through his years in the music industry: music producer, artist, audio specialist, technology adventurist, studio owner, and media journalist. Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, he was the owner and operator of 3 Elliott Studio, a thriving music and post-production studio that served as his creative home for nearly 20 years. Josh has worked extensively in higher education since 2007, establishing innovative music and media industry curriculums and developing the expansion of experience-based music industry education.
Karen Riggs, Ph.D.
An expert on social media, politics, identity, and the digital divide, Dr. Karen E. Riggs founded the Scripps College of Communication Social Media Certificate program in 2013. It was one of the first such programs in the United States and, with more than 200 students now enrolled, speedily became one of Ohio University's largest certificate programs. Certificate students gain high-demand, emergent career skills and critical social media literacy from faculty teaching in all five Scripps College schools.
M. Laeeq Khan
The workforce will face a shortage of nearly 200,000 marketing analysts by 2018, according to estimates in a McKinsey study. Dr. Laeeq Khan, through his research and teaching, is working to change that.
Andrew Alexander
For Andrew Alexander, a visiting professional with the Scripps College of Communication, ensuring access to public information has been an important part of his extensive journalism career. An advocate for open government, Alexander served as chair of the Freedom of Information Committee for the American Society of News Editors (ASNE). In this role, he helped launch the national Sunshine Week initiative, which serves as a way to educate the public about freedom of information and the dangers that can arise from excessive government secrecy.
John Bowditch, M.A.
Bowditch is the director of the Game Research and Immersive Design (GRID) Lab at Ohio University. The GRID Lab was founded in 2004 with a grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission to bring immersive technology education, research, and entrepreneurial support to southeast Ohio. Aimee Edmondson, Ph.D.
Dr. Aimee Edmondson is a professor in media law and journalism history with a particular focus on civil-rights related libel law, critical race theory and free expression. She also teaches data journalism using the techniques of Investigative Reporters and Editors (IRE) and has traveled to Kenya, China, Kazakhstan, India and Germany to lead workshops for journalists and journalism educators.
Victoria LaPoe, Ph.D.
LaPoe focuses on media diversity, digital media and marketing strategy of media. Previously, she served as broadcasting and film coordinator and assistant professor at Western Kentucky University’s School of Journalism and Broadcasting.
Nerissa Young, MAJ
Nerissa Young is a lecturer at Ohio University’s E.W. Scripps School of Journalism and a writer and editor from Forest Hill, West Virginia, with 25 years’ experience in radio, magazines, newspapers and journalism education. She has taught or practiced journalism in Ohio, Oklahoma, Mississippi and West Virginia.
