Ohio University’s Nondegree Nursing Early Start Program helps students earn a bachelor's degree faster. Nursing Early Start students may complete up to 28 credit hours toward the BSN degree with a choice of eight start dates!
Admission Criteria
- Currently enrolled in an associate degree in nursing program from a CHEA recognized regionally accredited institution
. Regional accrediting organizations recognized by CHEA are as follows:
- Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC)
- Western Association of Schools and Colleges
- Higher Learning Commission (HLC)
- Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE)
- New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE)
- Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU)
- Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)
- WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC)
- Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher from all prior colleges or institutions attended
- Successful completion of Foundations of Nursing I in your associate degree program

How to Apply
Ready to apply? Complete the undergraduate application for admission by selecting your preferred term, "e-campus Non-degree" as your application type, and "Nondegree Nursing Early Start" as your admission type.
Completion of the Nursing Early Start Program gives you an academic and financial head-start toward your nursing degree. So don't wait!
Students who complete the first nursing course (NRSE 4510) as a Nondegree Nursing Early Start student do not have to re-apply to complete subsequent nursing courses. They should contact their advisor for registration instructions.
Submit Transcripts
You must submit transcripts from all colleges and universities you have attended. Official transcripts are encouraged, but not required. An official transcript is one that is submitted directly from an institution.
Unofficial transcripts must meet the following criteria:
- An official transcript issued to the student that is still in a sealed envelope at the time it is submitted to Undergraduate Admissions.
- An unofficial transcript sent directly from the college or university where the credit originated.
