To get started, drop-in between 9:45 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. at Hudson Health Center 3rd Floor , or schedule an initial appointment by calling the mainline at 740.593.1616 or scheduling online. Please note, the online scheduling option is for INITIAL APPOINTMENTS ONLY. Please do not schedule an appointment on behalf of a student.
On the Day of Your Appointment
Step 1: Complete Paperwork
On the day of your appointment, a Counseling Center staff member will send your appointment confirmation and initial appointment paperwork via the email address you provide. It will take about 20 minutes to complete the intake paperwork, so please begin completing the paperwork at least an hour before your appointment time so the counselor can review before you meet.
Step 2: Arrive on Time
Please arrive at your in-person initial appointment on time (or 20 minutes early if you have not already completed the intake paperwork). The Counseling Center is located on the 3rd Floor of Hudson Health Center . Wearing a face mask is encouraged if you are experiencing any flu-like symptoms (i.e., sore throat, runny nose, cough, or fever).
You may schedule online if you:
- Are new to CPS
- Experienced a lapse in services longer than 3 months
- Are enrolled on the Athens Campus
- Are located in Ohio

We recommend calling to schedule if you:
- Are experiencing a crisis or emergency
- Are referred by other OHIO department (i.e., to the BASICS Program from the Office of Community Standards and Student Responsibility, from the Care Team of the Office of the Dean of Students)
- Are interested in Relationship (Couples) Counseling
- Are already established with a CPS provider
- Are interested in Telehealth (Zoom)
- Are located outside of Ohio
- Have additional questions or concerns not covered on this page
- Do not want to use the online scheduling option
