Undergraduate Admissions - Woodwinds Division
Admission Requirements and Process
Woodwind Instruments
For students seeking to study the woodwind instrument, audition requirements include:
- Prepare at least one solo of major length. Movements and/or etudes contrasting in tempo and style are desirable.
- Demonstrate knowledge of scales and arpeggios.
- Advanced solos from state solo and ensemble contest lists are suggested.
- Sight reading and aural discrimination skills will also be assessed during your audition.
Financial Aid and Scholarships
We provide several options for students seeking talent-based scholarships, as well as opportunities for first-year and transfer students seeking funding for specific programs. Explore these details on the Financial Aid and Scholarships page.
Oboe Studio
Oboe students participate in weekly, small-group reedmaking lessons. Oboe students meet in a weekly studio class and perform in front of their classmates several times per semester. Each oboe student has the opportunity to play and perform on English horn.
For additional information regarding audition requirements, please contact the major professor on your instrument or the woodwind division coordinator:
