You will receive details on how you will receive your bin, as well as information about what can and cannot be composted on campus. Compost can be emptied at sites behind Jefferson Market, Boyd Market, Nelson, and Baker.

Agreement Form

By agreeing to the following statements, you are committing to keeping your compost bin clean, composting food waste and napkins exclusively to avoid contamination, and returning your bin on time. Please read each of following statements and check the box below.

I will follow the University guidelines so I know what can and cannot be composted.

I understand that it is my responsibility to keep my bin clean.

I will be responsible for returning my compost bin to a designated collection event. Events will be scheduled and communicated prior to spring semester exam week.

I will return my compost bin in an empty, clean, and working condition. If I fail to do so, $10 will be charged to my account upon move-out.

If I choose to opt-out of the compost program before the end of the school year, I will be responsible for returning my bin to Ohio University Recycling and Zero Waste located in building 34 on the Ridges.

If I do not properly maintain my compost bin (e.g., attracting pests, creating a foul odor), my bin may be removed at the discretion of my RA, Campus Recycling or Cats' Compost organizers.
