ONCA supports students currently enrolled in a graduate program or who have completed some graduate coursework in applying for the following awards.

Awards for summer research, internships, and study abroad:

Critical Language Scholarship

Provides full funding for students to experience cultural immersion and foreign language programs overseas for 8-10 weeks during the summer. Learn more about the Critical Language Scholarship.

Humanity in Action Fellowship

Brings together international groups of students for a month-long summer program on human rights and democracy in Amsterdam, Atlanta, Berlin, Copenhagen, Sarajevo, or Warsaw. Learn more about the Humanity in Action Fellowship.

Awards for longer-term study and research abroad:

David L. Boren Fellowship for International Study

Supports graduate students pursuing the study of languages, cultures and world regions that are critical to U.S. interests, in exchange for a commitment to work for the federal government. Learn more about the David L. Boren Fellowship.

Fulbright U.S. Student Program

Awards for graduate school tuition, research, and creative activity:

BMI Student Composer Award

Awards for vocal, instrumental, and/or electronic classical music compositions made by students who are citizens of a country in the Western Hemisphere. Learn more about the BMI Student Composer Award.

Byron Hanke Fellowship

Awards graduate students implementing research projects related to developing, managing, and governing “common-interest communities” and housing developments. Learn more about the Byron Hanke Fellowship.

Gates Cambridge Scholarship

La Unidad Latina

Awards scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students residing in the United States who are dedicated to the civic empowerment of Latino communities. Learn more about La Unidad Latina.

Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowship

Rhodes Scholarship
