On January 17, 2020 the Ohio University Board of Trustees approved a resolution authorizing the University to establish and implement an Early Retirement Incentive Plan for AFSCME Residential Custodial and Custodial Staff.

The AFSCME ERIP (Early Retirement Incentive Plan) election period begins on February 5, 2020 and ends on March 21, 2020.
Eligibility
AFSCME Residential Custodians and Custodians
Must be eligible to retire per University Policy 41.090
- Age >= 55 and years service >= 25
- Age >= 60 with years service >=5
- Any age with years of service >=30
Important Dates
- February 5, 2020is the first day that individuals can indicate their interest to participate in the ERIP.
- Paperwork to declare intention to participate must be submitted to Human Resources by 5pm March 20, 2020or post-marked by March 21, 2020if mailed.
- You must retire between April 30, 2020and June 30, 2020.
- Sick and vacation pay outs, if applicable, will be paid in the pay period following your last normal pay, or as soon as feasible thereafter.
- Incentive payments will be made in the first bi-weekly payroll in September 2020.

AFSCME ERIP Summary
- 100% of pay up to $15,000
- Additional $5,000 if enrolled in the University health plan to help offset purchase of external health insurance.
