Services Provided
When the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine at Cleveland opened in 2015, one of the founding clubs was Ohio Women in Medicine - Cleveland. This organization provided a professional networking and mentoring group for Heritage College alumni, students, employees and friends. This organization is the first college-affiliated branch of Ohio University's Ohio Women initiative, a program designed to help connect women with the university, students, and each other. The Cleveland branch collaborates with the Athens and Dublin campuses in their joint mission to engage, educate, connect and steward female medical students. Our group seeks to create a supportive community for female medical students, with areas of focus in education, professional and personal development, social engagement and recognition of female talent. Additionally, the Cleveland branch strives to network female medical students with local female physicians throughout Northeast Ohio.
Tentative Schedule for 2024-2025
Events are still being formulated and will be sent out in a monthly calendar to all club members. Our 2024-2025 schedule tentatively has planned: Fall Semester Female Physician Panel and a Self-Defense Training collaborating with the Student National Medical Association. Events will be fundraised by members as needed.
