U.S. News & World Report ranks several College of Business programs among best in state and nation

O hio University’s Bachelor of Science in Applied Management was named the best online bachelor’s program in business in the state (19th nationally). The online MBA was ranked the second best for veterans in Ohio (57th nationally).

“We are honored and humbled to be ranked first in the state for the best online bachelor’s program in business. For all the programs we offer, the College of Business is committed to delivering online programs focused on innovative courses, real-world experiences, and student success,” said Katie Hartman, director of undergraduate programs & assessment, and the Fox Associate Professor of Marketing.

The college’s graduate degrees also were among the top programs in Ohio and helped put the University in the top 100 institutions in the nation for online master’s programs. The online MBA was ranked second in Ohio for best online MBA programs for veterans (57th nationally).

The College of Business worked closely with the Veterans and Military Student Services Center to ensure veterans and service members enrolled in the college’s graduate programs were supported. Terry St. Peter, director of the Veterans and Military Student Services Center, highlighted several programs the college and the center developed together.

“I am very excited with the enthusiasm the College of Business has shown toward our military-affiliated students.The College of Business graduate programs team worked diligently to find ways to enhance the veteran student experience.In conjunction with our office, they have created veteran scholarships, hosted veteran-specific information sessions, and are working on awarding graduate-level credit for ACE-accredited military training,” he said.

The online MBA also was recognized overall as the third best in the state, second among public Ohio universities, and 94th nationally. This was a 15-position increase over last year’s national ranking.

The college’s online Master of Accountancy and Master of Business Analytics programs received recognition in the non-MBA category, with a ranking of 76th nationally in best online master’s in business programs.

“We are proud to be recognized among the top graduate business programs across the nation. We will continue to expand our graduate education programs to meet the needs of working professionals,” said Luke Pittaway, associate dean for graduate programs.

In addition to the online business graduate programs that were recognized by U.S. News & World Report this year, the college added ten graduate certificates and a Master of Science in Management in the fall.
