Ohio University named best value among Ohio public universities for second consecutive year

Ohio University was named the best value among the state’s public universities for the second year in a row by U.S. News and World Report.

The publication’s latest rankings show OHIO as the 116 th best value in America, and 30 th among public universities nationwide.

In the overall rankings, Ohio University placed 88 th among top public schools in America and 179 th among Best National Institutions, fourth-best in Ohio.

“Ohio University offers our students a high-value education, which provides a significant return on the investment,” Ohio University President Hugh Sherman said. “Our outstanding academic programs and dedicated student services help our students succeed now and into their futures.”

OHIO once again made U.S. News’ A+ for B Students list, which includes institutions that admitted a meaningful proportion of students that didn’t get straight A’s in high school in fall 2020 and maintained a strong retention rate year to year. OHIO also made the Best Colleges for Veterans list, coming in at 112 th nationally.

Several OHIO programs were also ranked nationally, including:

  • Undergraduate Business Programs (tied for 143 rd )
  • Undergraduate Engineering Programs (tied for 147 th )
  • Undergraduate Computer Science Programs (tied for 154 th )
  • Undergraduate Nursing Programs (tied for 183 rd )

The rankings follow the recent news that OHIO is celebrating a larger, more diverse and more accomplished incoming first-year class for fall 2021, learning on one of the most beautiful college campuses in America.
