Benefits Open Enrollment for OHIO employees scheduled to begin week of April 15

The annual Benefits Open Enrollment period is held each year in the spring.

This year’s Benefits Open Enrollment is currently scheduled for April 15, 2024, through May 8, 2024. Any enrollment changes made during the enrollment period will be effective July 1, 2024.

Open Enrollment is the one time each year Ohio University employees can enroll or make changes in their healthcare benefits. Otherwise, changes may only be made if a qualifying family status change has occurred. Open enrollment will be held online through Benefits Self Service, as has been done in previous years.

Plan cost sharing including deductible, copays, coinsurance and out-of-pocket maximums are remaining at their current levels for faculty, administrators, AFSCME 3200 and FOP plans . As previously announced , the cost of Ohio University’s healthcare premiums benefits is expected to increase by approximately 9 percent in fiscal year 2025. The University will cover all cost escalation and will not increase premiums for faculty and staff. AFSCME 1699 healthcare premiums are increasing along with deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums in accordance with their Collective Bargaining Agreement. Copays and coinsurance will remain at their current levels. Premiums for dental and orthodontia plans will increase slightly for all plans.

Full details will be included in open enrollment materials which will be emailed at the start of Open Enrollment beginning the afternoon of April 15.
