The Office of the University Registrar provides unit record data to support the operational needs of the academic units. The data obtained are for internal use only. Most of the data are confidential and protected under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). For more details about this Federal law, please visit FERPA FAQ .
- If you have a public records request for student directory information as defined by Ohio University, please contact the Office of Legal Affairs at LegalAffairs@ohio.edu or call 740-593-2626.
- If you need aggregate, or longitudinal data, or if you need official data to report outside of Ohio University, then you will need to obtain that data from Institutional Effectiveness & Analytics. Institutional Effectiveness & Analytics provides a significant amount of data on their website and in OBI (Oracle Business Intelligence) on the Institutional Effectiveness & Analytics dashboard. If the website and OBI do not meet your needs, contact the office by email IEA@ohio.edu or call 740-593-1059.
- If you need data for Responsibility Centered Management (RCM), then your college Chief Financial and Administrative Officer (CFAO) or the Office of Institutional Effectiveness & Analytics is your data source.
Request Ad Hoc Report or Other Data
If you have an ad hoc report or other data need to support your office, please complete and submit the Ad Hoc Request for Student Data (qualtrics.com) . If you have questions regarding the request, please email registrar.reporting@ohio.edu .
Please include as many details about the criteria for the report as possible and include a desired completion date. We will try to meet your deadline; however, it is best to submit your request at least two weeks in advance of your deadline.
OBI = Oracle Business Intelligence
OBI is the central system supported by the Office of Information Technology for providing access to data and reports at Ohio University.
OBI Registrar Dashboards
Access to the dashboards is based on roles at Ohio University.
Class Schedule
Provides details about each class section offered for current and past terms. This dashboard will update with future terms once information is entered for that term in Peoplesoft. Users can filter by term, session code, campus, location, college, department, subject, class status, instructor name, career, and class number.
Results will yield class details including shared section information, meeting pattern details, number of students enrolled, requisite information, BRICKS, and other catalog details.
Class Schedule Public
Provides details about each section offered for current and past terms. This dashboard will update with future terms once Course Offerings go live for that term. Users can select multiple terms at a time and search by term, session, campus, location, college, department, subject, class, status, instructor name, career, and catalog number. This dashboard was designed to assist users in gathering historical class information that they previously were able to research on the Legacy Course Offerings page.
Results will yield class details including meeting pattern information, number of students enrolled, requisite information, BRICKS, class notes, and other catalog details.
Historic Course Enrollment
Provides the ability to compare student enrollment totals for five terms. The terms that are displayed in the results are determined by the campus, academic year and term selected in the required filters, i.e., select Athens Campus, Academic Year 2024-25 and Fall term and the results will be displayed for Fall 20-21, Fall 21-22, Fall 22-23, Fall 23-24, and Fall 24-25. The results may be further refined by selecting a College and Department.
Course Planner
Assists departments with planning course offerings for future terms. The data displayed on the dashboard is based on the courses students enter in their My Planner tool in the My OHIO Student Center and are intended to communicate the demand for courses in a specific term.
Enrolled Students by Term
Produces a list of students that are enrolled for a selected enrollment term. The terms available are terms between the Summer Quarter 2010-2011 through the present term plus two future terms. There are many filters for narrowing the number of students selected based on need.
The list will display one row per student per academic plan and include an abundance of information for students enrolled (e.g., student bio-demo information, academic colleges, academic plans, advisor information, term and cumulative hours, term and cumulative GPA).
Applications for Graduation
Produces a list of students that have applied for graduation for a selected application term. The terms available are Fall Semester 2014-2015 through the current term.
The list will display one row per student, per academic plan and include student bio-demo information, academic colleges, academic plans, degree information, commencement information, cumulative hours and GPA, as well as additional columns.
Degrees Awarded
Produces a list of students that were awarded degrees for a selected term. The terms available are terms for the last ten academic years through the prior term. In addition to the term filter, there are filters by campus, college, department, major, degree level, degree name, and academic career.
The list will display one row per student, per degree and include student bio-demo information, academic colleges, academic plans, and degree information, as well as additional columns.
Certificates Awarded
Produces a list of students that were awarded certificates for a selected term. The terms available are terms for the last ten academic years through the prior term.
The list will display one row per student, per certificate. The list contains graduation term, last campus attended, career, name, email, PID, department, certificate name, and addresses.
Grade Distribution
Produces a list of total number of grades or total percentage of grades for each assigned grade A, A-, B, etc. The following six report types are available from the dashboard.
- Campus – term, course level, and campus.
- College – term, course level, campus, and college.
- College, Department, Course – term, course level, campus, college, department, course subject, and catalog number.
- College, Department, Level – term, course level, campus, college, and department.
- Instructor – term, course level, campus, college, department, and instructor last name.
- Instructor and Course – term, course level, campus, college, department, instructor last name, course subject, and catalog number.
Ad Hoc Reports
Provides access to staff members in colleges and departments throughout the university to run reports that have been requested and developed for their specific needs.
