Ohio University’s Innovation Center has focused its efforts in the last several weeks on helping local entrepreneurs navigate the COVID-19 pandemic and response. The small business incubator has remained open to support its on-site essential businesses and is maintaining safe operations. The center is providing virtual business development support to current clients.

The Innovation Center has fostered more than 300 companies that have created more than 3,000 jobs in southeastern Ohio since its inception in 1983. In addition to providing entrepreneurs with space and services to grow their ideas into successful businesses, the incubator also provides rich and unique hands-on learning experiences to Ohio University undergraduates.
3D printing brings ancient artifacts to life
The University Libraries worked with scientists and lab managers at the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and Innovation Center to create 3D images and printed replicas of a clay tablet, scarab seal and cylindrical seal in the University Libraries’ Rare Book Collection.
ARC Awards Innovation Center $250,000 Grant
U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown announced that the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) has awarded $250,000 to Ohio University for renovations to the Ohio University Innovation Center (IC). The funds will be used to convert former office space into a biotechnology laboratory, and add a new heating system and virtual conferencing technology to the building.
