Carly Densmore  (M.A., Central Michigan University) is from Rochester Hills, Michigan and completed her undergraduate and master’s degrees from Central Michigan University. Carly’s research interests are centered around interpersonal communication, specifically instructional and family communication. She enjoys researching about memorable messages, teacher identity, academic success, self-efficacy, social support, and grief in the classroom. Her dissertation is exploring the memorable messages student have received and how those messages inform their teacher identity. Throughout her masters Carly worked in the CMU Speech Center, served as the Assistant Basic Course Director (Fall ’19-Spring ‘20) and earned the Outstanding Teaching Award (‘18). Carly’s master’s thesis was titled “The Relationship Between Communication Apprehension, Social Support, and Gender Correlation in a Presentation Skills Center.” Highlights at OU include serving as the Communication Resource Center (CRC) manager (Fall ’21-Spring ’22) and VP of GradCo (Fall ’21-Spring ’22), the Assistant Basic Course Director (Fall ’22- Spring ’23), and serving as the current Assistant to the Graduate Director (Fall ’23-present).

Carly’s cats Artie and Apollo continually amuse her and in her free time she enjoys golfing, cooking, rooting for the Detroit Tigers and Green Bay Packers, and traveling northern Michigan with her family and friends. Carly loves being an OU Bobcat!
