Shatakshi Semwal is a PhD student in Health Communication at Ohio University's Scripps College of Communication. Her research focuses on mental health, support groups, women's health, and family interactions. Shatakshi is passionate about developing culture centered interventions to improve women's health, particularly for disadvantaged groups.
Shatakshi holds a Master’s degree in Extension Education and Communication Management from Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, India, and a Bachelor's degree in Home Science from Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology. She has conducted research on gender issues, financial literacy, and health communication, with several publications and conference presentations.
In addition to her academic pursuits, Shatakshi has actively contributed to the university community. She served as a Graduate Intern for Bobcat Student Orientation during the summer of 2024 and is currently serving as a Senator for the Scripps College of Communication in the Graduate Student Senate for the 2024-25 academic year.
Outside of her academic and professional work, Shatakshi enjoys traveling, baking her favorite banana walnut bread and spending time with her friends and family.
