Official Biography

Major Eric J. Wilt is a native of Antioch, IL and was commissioned through the ROTC program at Iowa State University in 2013 as an Engineer Officer.

His civilian and military education includes a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (Iowa State University, 2013), a master’s degree in engineering management (Missouri University of Science and Technology, 2018), Engineer Officer Basic Course, Engineer Captain’s Career Course, Sapper Leader Course, Airborne School, Jumpmaster, Rappel Master, and Combative(s) Level 1.

MAJ Wilt’s assignments include Platoon Leader, 27th Engineer Battalion (Airborne), Fort Liberty, NC; Executive Officer, 127th AEB, 1BCT, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Liberty, NC; Chief of Operations, Combined Joint Task Force Devil Strike Bravehearts, 1BCT, 82nd Airborne Division (Afghanistan); Battalion Plans Officer and Logistics Officer, Regimental Engineer Squadron, 3rd Cavalry Regiment, Fort Cavazos, TX; Troop Commander, A Troop, Regimental Engineer Squadron, 3rd Cavalry Regiment, Fort Cavazos, TX; and Assistant Professor of Military Science, Ohio University, Athens, OH.
