COMS 1010 - Fundamentals of Human Communication
Introductory analysis of oral communication in human relationships with focus on variety of contexts including dyadic, small group, and public communication experiences. Serves as survey of human communication processes. Mass lecture.

Learning Outcomes:
- Define and explain basic terms, principles and theories that serve as a basis for engaging in, and understanding human communication.
- Demonstrate knowledge of theories related to interpersonal, small group, intercultural, organizational, health, and communication in public advocacy.
- Engage in critical analysis of communication using theories or concepts discussed in the class to apply to students’ own communication.
- Recognize the importance of culture, gender, class, race, geographic location, and other markers that influence communication.
- Use theories discussed in class to produce written, oral, and digital works demonstrating skills.
