Under the new Category J criteria, Educators with a Master's or Doctorate in Counseling or Rehabilitation Counseling can sit for the CRC Exam, providing they meet the additional coursework and employment requirements as detailed on pages 7 and 8 of the CRC Certification Guide. Category J is in effect beginning with the October 2010 CRC Examination. Application packets for this exam cycle must be completed and submitted to CRCC by May 15,2010. Application instructions and forms are easily accessible from the CRCC website, Application and Fees page. "CRCC recognizes the extensive education, experience, and mentoring of educators in the field of rehabilitation counseling. Providing the ability for such educators to attain their certification underscores their core knowledge and their strong professional identity, both of which are vital to educating future CRCs as they prepare to provide quality services to individuals with disabilities." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~ Cindy A.
