Subject: Faculty Positions at University of Cincinnati

Dear Dr. Leinbaugh,

The University of Cincinnati's Counseling Program, in the College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services (CECH), is reaching out to universities across the nation about a new opportunity within our program. Located in the School of Human Services within CECH, The Counseling Program is currently looking for applicants for two positions. As we value graduates from strong CACREP programs such as yours at Ohio University, we are looking for your help.
The first position is at the assistant professor level. Qualified applicants would have a Ph.D. or Ed.D. and experience in school counseling. They should be eligible to seek licensure as a counselor in Ohio and become a supervisor, mainly for students in our school counseling master's degree program. High interest in conducting applied research and mentoring students in research is also a plus. The desire to develop a strong program of scholarly activity is another important attribute for those interested in this position.
The second position is at the Associate Level, with room to discuss the Professor Level. Qualified applicants would have a Ph.D. or Ed.D. and a proven track record for research and scholarly productivity in a research area consistent with our school's mission of increasing prevention, school-based and substance use counseling services. However, other types of research interests will be considered, if they are in a closely related field. This position will focus on program coordination and strengthening research within our doctoral program in future years. This position also will involve oversight of our doctoral and master's level programs and probably some hands-on coordination of the doctoral program. This position also involves applying for research funding and promoting research activities of the Counseling Program within the university.
Currently, we offer master's degrees in school and mental health counseling and a doctoral degree (EdD) in counseling. These programs are CACREP accredited. Faculty in the Counseling Program have a myriad of opportunities that allow them to collaborate with other faculty at various programs in our school and college. The program anticipates expanding these offerings in the near future. Opportunities in research about prevention services, substance use, and school-based services are other potential areas for program expansion. Our online presence is growing too, primarily in the area of substance use counseling. As part of this expansion effort, the program is looking for applicants for the two aforementioned positions that will begin on September 1, 2012.
We are requesting your help in getting the information about these positions out to any doctoral students who are nearing graduation or colleagues who fit the position qualifications. More detailed job descriptions are attached. Please contact me with any questions ( brubakml at ucmail.uc.edu

Sincerely yours,
