West Texas A&M University's Department of Education seeks to fill the position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Counselor Education. Position responsibilities include teaching graduate counseling courses with an emphasis on clinical mental health, advising students, conducting scholarly research, active participation in professional organizations, and university service.

The Department of Education ( http://www.wtamu.edu/academics/college-ed-social.aspx 
) is developing innovative teaching strategies in the areas of travel abroad and cross-discipline collaboration in effort to promote knowledge acquisition in English Language Learning/Bilingual education and multiculturalism. Applicants will need to demonstrate a willingness to learn, support, and promote these initiatives.
The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate in Counselor Education, preferably from a CACREP accredited institution (ABD considered with stipulations), licensure in the state of Texas as a Professional Counselor (or eligible), and experience with community counseling, supervision, publication and research. Applicants should demonstrate efficacy with teaching courses such as Ethics, Group Counseling, Couples Counseling, Diagnosis and Treatment, and Practicum, along with knowledge and experience with CACREP accreditation.
