The appointment will be at the assistant or associate professor level, depending upon qualifications. The Department supports face-to-face, blended and distance learning environments. Summer teaching is expected when contracts are available. QUALIFICATIONS A doctorate in Rehabilitation or Counselor Education from a CORE or CACREP accredited program is preferred. Candidates must be eligible for the Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) credential. Consideration will be given to candidates who are ABD, although doctorate and CRC credential must be completed within one year of the contract start date. Candidate must have a minimum of two (2) years paid work experience serving a wide range of persons with disabilities, not including practicum and/or internship experiences. Successful teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level and potential for professional and scholarly productivity are desirable. Potential areas of teaching may include vocational assessment, psychological rehabilitation, and criminal justice. RESPONSIBILITIES The position involves a full-time academic year assignment in the Department of Rehabilitation and Counseling. The department is characterized by committed student-centered professionals who value teaching in a collaborative and participatory work environment. The successful applicant is expected to teach undergraduate and graduate rehabilitation, including supervision of practicum and internships. A full-time teaching load for a faculty member is 12 credits per semester. Faculty members use a variety of instructional technology including blended and distance learning applications. The teaching assignment will depend on department needs and individual expertise. Faculty members are expected to participate in faculty governance, curriculum development, recruitment, student advisement, scholarly research, and professional service activities.
