[Dtwg] Turtle identification

The blotches on the scutes are new and different. I would guess that it is an escaped or released pet and then could be a hybrid among the subspecies.

I spotted this cool-looking turtle on 17 September 2021 at Jackson Miles Abbott Wetland Refuge in Fairfax County. It looks to me like it might be a Northern Diamond-backed Terrapin (Malaclemys terrapin terrapin), though the range map on your website does not seem to include Fairfax County or the surrounding counties. The turtle was adjacent to a small pond that is fed by water from a nearby wetland.

Thanks for assistance in helping to confirm or correct my identification.
