*deCharm-* Danielle, Mary, Saretta 1. Identify the meaning of each of the constructs. 2. Identify the manner in which each of the constructs apply to the work of a school administrator. 3. Next, identify the manner in which your temperament/type. 4. Finally, identify the relationship between the constructs and transactional and transformational leadership, rational, natural, and open/social systems, and the four frameworks (political, human resource, structural, and symbolic) of Bolman and Deal’s Venn diagram. *1).* Self- Determination- having a desire to have independence in choice making - not have outside pressures or rewards determining actions *2.)* The manner in which this construct applies to administration is that as an administrator one would hope to be considered an origin (one who makes decisions independently based on intrinsic motivators), however, because of the top-bottom hierarchy sometimes would be seen as pawns (powerless to determine own actions, relying on an origin) *3.) *How our temperament types apply: Collectively as teachers we are often viewed as pawns because our chance to be an origin is spoiled by hierarchical attempt to control your decision-making and choices in the classroom. (growth measures, benchmark testing, curriculum) *4.)* deCharm’s need for self-determination is closely related to transformational leadership based on the intrinsic need for choice -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
