The Latin American studies certificate program requires a minimum of 26 hours (Core, Electives, and Language) and maintaining a 2.5 or higher GPA in certificate courses.

The Latin American studies certificate program requires a minimum of 26 hours (Core, Electives, and Language) and maintaining a 2.5 or higher GPA in certificate courses.
- Take the core course INST 1600 - Introduction to Latin American Studies.
- Complete 9 hours of elective courses in interdisciplinary areas such as anthropology, economics, history, plant biology, Portuguese or Spanish topics.
- Complete a total of 2 years (4 semesters) or equivalent in one Latin American language.
