A Community of Scholars
In addition to academic and financial benefits, Cutler Scholars are invited into a community of collaboration from orientation to graduation. They have unique opportunities to connect with staff and faculty and interface with one another.
First-Year RetreatReturning Cutler Scholars facilitate a first-year retreat for the incoming scholars before Fall semester classes begin. The off-campus retreat allows first-year scholars to get to know their classmates and learn more about the Cutler Scholars Program.
Washington Hall: Honors Residence HallFirst-year Scholars live in Washington Hall, a residential honors community on East green.
Peer MentoringIncoming Cutler Scholars develop mentoring relationships with upper level scholars through the first-year section of Colloquium. This relationship helps first-year students navigate the transition to college and build relationships with their peers.
Scholar Support and CoachingOne-on-one coaching and academic support are among the most beneficial aspects of the Cutler Scholars Program. Scholars are expected to meet regularly with staff to discuss academic engagement, enrichment plans, and career and graduate school possibilities.
Cutler CouncilScholars are encouraged to engage with the program through Cutler Council. Cutler Council broadens the reach of our program by planning events that contribute to OHIO’s vibrant atmosphere. Cutler Council’s executive board serves as liaisons between program staff and students.
Alumni NetworkingCutler Scholar Alumni are always ready to share their wisdom, mentor Cutler Scholars, and connect them with professional opportunities. Every fall, we welcome alumni and friends of the program for a homecoming reunion.
Cutler Study LoungeCutler Scholars have 24-hour access to a scholar lounge in the Academic Engagement Center, a space conducive to studying and relaxing.
