Resources are now available to help students and employees easily navigate the COVID-19 pandemic
As we approach the beginning of fall semester, the health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff remain top of mind. As such, Ohio University work groups composed of students, faculty and staff have been working diligently over the past several weeks to develop resources to help protect students and employees and slow the spread of disease.
“As we navigate this worldwide public health crisis, the welfare of our students, faculty, staff and community is our top priority,” Nellis said. “It is critical that we all do our part to take care of one another by following essential public health guidance to ensure the health and well-being of our University and respective communities.”
OHIO’s COVID Response plan uses public health guidance and best practices aimed at fostering a culture of care for our community while taking steps to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 as we gradually return students, faculty, and staff to the campus environment.
The University has created a Campus COVID Safety Assessment that students, faculty and staff are required to use every day to determine whether they should visit campus.
To help prevent the spread of COVID-19 across our campus communities, Ohio University has implemented a mandatory COVID-19 Incident Report form for students, faculty, and staff that centralizes the reporting of COVID-19 illness or exposure.
Ohio University is also proud to partner with OhioHealth to provide access to expanded services for students and employees during the pandemic. In addition, the Ohio University COVID-19 Response Hotline, 877-OU-COV19 (877-682-6819), will be available on August 24.
Finally, in an effort to ensure accountability and cooperation in adhering to policies, ordinances, and public-health practices to keep our community safe, Ohio University and has signed a compact to work with local government partners to develop mutually beneficial solutions during the pandemic. The mutual agreement embraces a culture of care and encourages members of our communities to accept some inconvenience, an essential action to keep our community safe, protect our own families and friends, and ensure business continuity.
