Photojournalism Minor

Photojournalism Minor

The Photojournalism minor equips students with the foundational knowledge and visual storytelling skills to create compelling photo, audio, and video content rooted in journalistic standards. Ideal for students in journalism, communication, marketing, or the social sciences, the minor enhances professional versatility in today's media-rich world.

Admissions Requirements

This is a selective minor. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and submit a portfolio for review.

Curriculum

Students complete 15 credit hours, including coursework in communication photography fundamentals, single-image storytelling, picture stories, and multimedia production. The program also includes an upper-level elective in motion, synthesis, or documentary photography.
