The Appalachia Ohio Zero Waste Initiative —a collaboration coordinated by Rural Action in partnership with the Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs and funded by the Sugar Bush Foundation—conducted a residential survey of Athens and Hocking Counties in February 2012. The survey aimed to gauge the communities' actions, wants, and needs in terms of waste reduction and recycling.
