Chad Barnhardt has been serving as Assistant Dean of Students since August of 2013. His duties relate to serving students include serving as a member of the University’s behavioral intervention team, and advising Student Senate and the Senate Appropriations Committee.
Chad has also served as Assistant Director of Student Activities, Assistant Director of Baker University Center, and Coordinator of Parent Outreach and Special Projects in the Office of the Dean of Students. From 2013-14, Chad served as Chair of the National Board of Directors for the Association of Higher Education Parent and Family Program Professionals (AHEPPP) and has served as Vice-Chair and Secretary. Chad also serves as a member of the City of Athens/Ohio University Joint Police Advisory Council and is a member of the Athens Professionals for Philanthropy.
A two-time Ohio University graduate, Chad received his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with an emphasis in Criminology and his Masters in Education degree in Teacher Education. Chad is currently working on his Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Higher Education with a focus on parent involvement as a factor in resilience among first-year students.
