Courtney Kessel is a mother, artist, academic, and administrator living and working in Athens, Ohio. She exhibits and lectures on her artwork both nationally and internationally. She is thrilled to be working with the Center for Advising, Career and Experiential Learning as the Assistant Director of Experiential Design. Partnering with the Chaddock + Morrow College of Fine Arts, Scripps College of Communication, and University College, her areas of concentration are creative activity and research. An OHIO graduate (MFA ’12) and Ph.D. candidate in Interdisciplinary Arts, she has worked for the university for 12 years.
Kessel is a passionate advocate for visibility, accessibility, and equality in and for the arts. For the past seven years, she has served as the Gallery Coordinator for the two university galleries, continues as chair of the College of Fine Arts Visiting Artists and Scholars Committee, and teaches BFA seniors in the School of Art + Design.
