Strategic Goals and Outcomes

The Center for Teaching, Learning, and Assessment has outlined six strategic goals that are essential in supporting the instructors within the University and advancing teaching excellence at OHIO.

  1. Advance a culture of teaching excellence through creation and provision of high-quality professional development opportunities for OHIO instructors
  2. Foster connections and networks among and promote collaborative opportunities for OHIO units, faculty and staff dedicated to evidence-based teaching, learning and assessment
  3. Provide resources, processes and programs focusing on instructor skillsets in assessment of student learning and continuous improvement
  4. Promote Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SOTL), investigation of promising innovations in the field and interdisciplinary teaching and learning research across the University
  5. Encourage the development of policies and procedures that support excellence in teaching and elevate recognition of teaching excellence
  6. Serve as a hub for teaching and learning resources and communicate the story of transformative teaching and learning through programming and digital resources.
