Mission of the Physician Assistant Practice Program

The Physician Assistant Practice Program is:

  • Housed in a large, dedicated academic space (28,000 square feet) in the Ohio University Integrated Education Center in Dublin, Ohio.
  • Proud to have a diverse and interdisciplinary faculty representing PAs, physicians (DO and MD), and a licensed pharmacist. Collectively the faculty has experience in emergency medicine, family medicine, pediatrics, women’s health, public health, endocrinology, geriatrics, surgery, orthopedics, and research.
  • Providing interprofessional opportunities with the other professions within the College of Health Sciences and Professions and the University.
  • Actively recruiting students from regions that are considered medically underserved and students with military experience.
  • Aiming to be a nationally recognized leader in PA education, preparing leaders in the health care industry and clinical practice.

Mission of the Physician Assistant Practice Program

The mission of the Ohio University Master of Physician Assistant Practice program is to prepare students to be leaders in Physician Assistant practice in any clinical setting, with a particular emphasis on primary care in urban and rural underserved communities in the State of Ohio and throughout Appalachia.
