Partners

The Center for Entrepreneurship serves as the coordinating hub for a growing entrepreneurial ecosystem taking root and blooming in southeast Ohio. The center’s role is to facilitate, nurture, and support partnerships involving students, faculty, researchers, entrepreneurs, emerging and established business enterprises, and the venture capital community. Our partnerships promote a culture of entrepreneurship throughout the University and the region and help develop a competitive regional talent pool for innovation-based business.

Key partners in our vital work to stimulate and support collaboration at all stages of the “idea to marketplace” continuum include:

  • Ohio University Research
    The Vice President for Research division promotes Ohio University's research mission to advance excellence in the search of new information, knowledge, understanding and creative endeavors.
  • Ohio University Technology Transfer Office
    The Technology Transfer Office works with entrepreneurial and established business interests to leverage intellectual property developed by Ohio University in order to benefit the University, its faculty, the public, and the state of Ohio.
  • TechGROWTH Ohio
    The mission of TechGROWTH Ohio is to significantly increase revenue growth and capital investments in technology-based businesses within the 20-county region of southeast Ohio.
  • Innovation Center
    The Innovation Center provides valuable business incubation resources to fuel the economy in Athens, Ohio and surrounding regions.
  • Edison Biotechnology Institute
    An interdisciplinary research institute at Ohio University established in 1984, the Edison Biotechnology Institute (EBI) has a dual mission of basic discovery research and development of new technology and the transfer of technology to the private sector for economic benefit in Ohio.
  • Procurement Technical Assistance Center
    The purpose of PTAC is to assist Ohio businesses to sell goods and services to local, state, and federal government.
  • Small Business Development Center
    The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) provides a full range of business consulting services for existing and new small businesses.
  • Ohio University CoLab
    CoLab’s mission is to enable and empower students to live and grow through creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Through this, we hope to achieve a more connected and innovation-focused community that creates with the goal of changing the world around us.
  • Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Service
    The Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Service is a catalyst for regional, state and national collective impact in the areas of entrepreneurship, energy and the environment, and public and social engagement policy areas. Ranked as the 39th Most Innovative Public Service Schools in the country, the Voinovich School was also recently elevated to the top 100 U.S. News and World Report Best Public Affairs Grad Schools. By blending real-world problem solving and government, nonprofit sector and industry partnerships with education, students are offered unique learning opportunities as they prepare for careers serving the public interest in Ohio University's rural region and beyond.
