Challenge Overview

Honors in Six is a challenge for OHIO Honors Program seniors to tell a six-word story about your experiential learning (research, internship, study away, etc.) — using a single photo or original artwork.

This challenge is open to OHIO Honors Program seniors every fall and spring semester. The challenge is simple: describe your experience as it related to your chosen discipline.

Student submissions may be published on the Ohio University website, social media accounts, or used in digital and print marketing.

Challenge Timelines

The Honors in SIx challenge is open to OHIO Honors Program seniors every fall and spring semester. Review the timelines for the semester in which you plan to participate to ensure your submission is accepted.

  • Fall Semester 2024

    Winners Announced:Monday, November 18, 2024 (Week 14)
    Pickup Personalized Prints:Throughout Finals Week (December 9 – 13)

  • Spring Semester 2025

    Submission Deadline:Monday, April 7, 2025, 11:59 p.m. (Week 13)
    Winners Announced: Monday, April 14, 2025 (Week 14)
    Pickup Personalized Prints:Throughout Finals Week (April 28 – May 2)

Cash Prizes

Each semester, the top 3 winners will receive a $100 cash prize.

Rules

  • No submissions will be accepted after the deadline.
  • A horizontal photo/artwork and six words are required for a submission.
  • Your six-word statement and photo/artwork must be your original work.
  • Your submission should be exactly six words.
    • Do not include your six words on the graphic/image that you submit.
    • Each word counts as one word, even if two or more are hyphenated.
    • Don’t use acronyms, please spell out each word.
    • Symbols such as "&" will count as one word.
  • Students need to submit an original photo or artwork with their submission.
    • We will not accept stock photos or clip art.
    • If you create non-digital art, please submit a digital print or a high-quality photo of your work in your online submission.
    • Visual aid submissions should be of medium quality and size.
    • Photo or artwork files should be in JPG or TIFF formats.
  • The Ohio Honors Program reserves the right to disqualify entries that use hateful, violent, attacking, or otherwise inapprpriate language, or identify FERPA- or HIPAA-protected information.
