About this Event
Individuals who identify as Black are invited to participate in a panel to learn about the careers of the panelists and how they have achieved their success. You will hear the stories of the panelists and allow students to ask questions about the different industries represented. There is also a networking portion of the event which will allow students to connect with the panelists and continue the conversation. This will serve as a learning and networking event for Black students.

More about the panelists:
Aileen Grant is an Ohio native, she attended Ohio University from 2002- 2006; as a track and field student-athlete. She majored in Sport Management. While on Ohio’s campus she was a student leader involved in many student organizations and held several campus jobs. Aileen served on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, attended the student NCAA Regional Leadership Conference in 2005, and was a McNair Scholar while at Ohio; she gives credit to these activities for her interest in student learning and a passion for student success. She has worked at several universities’ colleges across the country in various roles supporting students. A few of the schools include Florida State University, Georgia Tech, University of Utah, Georgia State and now Emory University where she oversees graduation and completion for the College of Arts and Sciences. Aileen currently resides in Atlanta, GA where she is finishing her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology at the University of Georgia. She is married and has one daughter. In her free time, she enjoys the outdoors and cooking.
Dr. Jason White is an Associate Clinical Professor of Exercise Physiology at Ohio University. Dr. White also serves as the Director of Performance Sciences for the Ohio University Athletics’ department, providing a comprehensive, scientific approach to improving student-athlete performance and well-being. He oversees all sports-science related student-athlete support services, such as physiological testing of student-athletes, body composition testing, maximum oxygen consumption and anaerobic threshold testing, nutritional assessments, and sports science initiatives that support competitive advantage. Dr. White was previously an Associate Professor of Kinesiology at George Mason University, where he served in the Patriot Performance Lab. He also provides physiological and performance consultation to the US Rowing Senior National Men’s and Women’s Rowing Teams. His research interests include skeletal muscle changes due to training with analysis via ultrasound, sports performance, athlete workload monitoring, and practical exercise related research. He is a certified strength and conditioning specialist(NSCA-CSCS,* D).
