What : a 6.5 hour-long virtual training that covers: common signs and symptoms of mental illness and substance us; how to interact with a person in a crisis; how to connect the person with help and some additional information on trauma, addiction and self-care using the ALGEE action plan:

  • A ssess for risk of suicide or harm.
  • L isten nonjudgmentally.
  • G ive reassurance and information.
  • E ncourage appropriate professional help.
  • E ncourage self-help and other support strategies.

Qualifications : You must be 18 years of age to participate in this training.

When Friday, March 25, 2022, 9am to 3:30pm  – ½ hour lunch and 2 short breaks built in to the time

Cost Free , thanks to a series of generous donors from  Ohio MHFA Statewide Collaborative .

CEUs: Provided by Ohio University Zanesville, Continuing Education Committee for Social Workers and Counselors (post-survey and attendance required for full CEU award. No partial credit awarded).  Eligible for 5 CEU's!

Resources Needed: Access to Zoom for the virtual meeting and email to receive Pre-Work assignments. You will be expected to be on-camera for this certification workshop.
